Vinted Glossary: What Hidden, Member Blocked, Bump, Holiday Mode and Other Terms Mean
Founder of ResellTrack · 400+ users
Vinted's app uses a lot of short labels: "Hidden", "Reserved", "Bumped", "Member blocked", "Pending". Confusing two of them (a listing you hid versus one Vinted hid) leads to the wrong fix. This glossary defines each term from Vinted UK's official Help Centre, with a link to the source.
Definitions checked on Vinted UK's official Help Centre in October 2026. Vinted can rename or change features at any time: the wording in your app always takes precedence.
The short answer: what does "hidden" mean on Vinted?
"Hidden" on Vinted means a listing is no longer visible in the feed, the catalogue or the seller's listings page. Either the seller hid it themselves, or Vinted hid it for breaking the Catalogue Rules or missing information. A listing Vinted hid becomes visible again once you fix it, with no appeal needed.
Listing status
Hidden (hidden by you)
You can hide any active listing from View my listings by opening it and using the menu. Per Vinted's Hiding, editing or deleting listings page, a hidden item "won't be visible in the feed, the catalogue, or your listings page". The same menu then offers Unhide. To hide everything at once, use holiday mode instead (see below).
Hidden (hidden by Vinted)
Vinted can also hide a listing itself. According to Listing was hidden or removed, the usual reasons are a breach of the Catalogue Rules, missing proof (of authenticity, that an item isn't fur, or of UK/EEA market compliance), an inaccurate price, condition, size or hashtags, the wrong category, poor photos, or a listing promoting another marketplace. The fix is to update the listing: Vinted states that you don't need to contact it or submit an appeal for a hidden listing.
Removed
A removed listing is more serious than a hidden one: the item or listing breaks the rules or is prohibited by law. Vinted's examples include counterfeits, stock or third-party photos, copyright infringement, fur, tobacco or vaping products, recalled products, used or opened cosmetics and duplicate listings. You're always told by an inbox message. If that message has an appeal link, you can appeal once, within 6 months. Paid Bumps or Showcase aren't refunded on hidden or removed items.
Reserved
A seller can reserve an item for one buyer, from the conversation or the listing menu. Per Reserving an item, a reservation lasts 5 days, can be cancelled at any time, and hides the item from other members: only the reserved buyer can see and buy it. Sellers aren't obliged to accept a reservation request.
Members and accounts
Member blocked
Vinted uses "blocked" for three different things, and its IP address help page explicitly separates them: a blocked member, a blocked account and a blocked IP address.
- A member blocked by another member. Per Blocking another member, a blocked member can no longer message you or buy your items, and you can no longer see their items. You block from their profile (three-dot menu, then Block) and unblock from their profile or your conversation, which restores everything they could do before.
- A member blocked by Vinted. The same page explains that Vinted's team can block a seller. If it happens shortly after you order, the seller can still send your item; otherwise the order cancels on its own and you're refunded.
So if you see "member blocked" in a conversation, either one of you has blocked the other, or Vinted has blocked that account. Vinted's Help Centre doesn't publish a separate definition of the label itself.
Blocked or banned account
Your own account being blocked by Vinted is a moderation decision, temporary (lifted automatically after 7 to 30 days, depending on the reason) or permanent, per My account was banned. Reasons, appeals and prevention are covered in our guide to a blocked Vinted account.
Holiday mode
Holiday mode hides all your listings for up to 90 days, per Using holiday mode. It's meant for when you can't post sold items or want to pause selling. You can switch it on or off at any time: in the app via Profile, Holiday mode, "Hide my items"; on the website via Account settings. It doesn't extend Bumps or Showcase you've already paid for, so don't bump before going away.
Vinted Pro
The account type for business sellers. Pro sellers can't offer bundle discounts, their buyers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, and their orders complete 14 days after delivery. You can hold one Pro account alongside your personal account, with different email addresses. More in our guide to Vinted Pro sellers.
Visibility and promotion
Bump (Bumped)
A paid option that shows one listing higher in members' newsfeeds and search results, mainly to members likely to be interested, within your registered country. Per Vinted's Bump page, it lasts 3 or 7 days or until the item sells, and the price depends on the item's price and the duration. You can lower the price during a Bump, but not raise it. "Bumped" on a listing simply means the seller paid for it. Our Vinted Bump guide shows when one pays for itself.
Showcase (formerly Wardrobe Spotlight)
A paid feature that highlights up to 15 of your listings, chosen by Vinted, to members likely to buy them, for 7 days in a row from purchase. You need at least 5 items listed, and the price depends on the number and value of your listings (Showcase).
Catalogue Rules
Vinted's rules on what can be listed and how. Breaking them is the main reason listings get hidden or removed, and repeated breaches can lead to a ban. Read them on Vinted's Catalogue Rules page.
Buying and selling
Buy now
The checkout button that puts an order under Vinted's Refund Policy. Purchases made any other way aren't protected, per the Returning an item page.
Bundle
Several listings from the same seller bought in one order, usually to save on postage. Per Buying a bundle, a bundle can contain up to 100 items. Heavy or bulky items, and items bought with Item or Electronics Verification, must be bought one at a time.
Bundle discount
A discount a seller sets for buyers who bundle several items, configured under Settings, Bundle discounts. Only standard sellers can offer one; Pro sellers can't (Set up a discount for your listings).
SNAD (significantly not as described)
Vinted's term for an item that differs significantly from its listing. It's the main ground on which a buyer of a private seller can claim a refund, within 2 days of delivery. The full process is in our Vinted return policy guide.
Suspended order
An order put on hold because a buyer reported an issue (not arrived, SNAD, damaged). The payment stays held until it's resolved, and the seller has 14 days from the suspension to dispute the claim (Suspended order).
Fees and verification
Vinted fee (formerly Buyer Protection fee)
The mandatory platform fee paid by the buyer at checkout on Buy now orders. Vinted renamed the Buyer Protection fee "Vinted fee" and states that "This is not a new or additional fee". The UK price list (updated 8 October 2026) puts it at usually 3% to 8% of the price plus about £0.30 to £0.80. Private sellers pay no selling fees. Check any price with our Vinted fee calculator.
Item Verification
An optional authenticity check for designer items, paid by the buyer: £10 per item. Per Item Verification for designer items, a listing must be priced at £85 or more, from an eligible brand, in clothing, bags, accessories, jewellery or shoes, and traded within the UK. Eligible listings carry a diamond badge that sellers can't remove. The seller posts to a verification hub with a prepaid label within 5 business days. It checks authenticity, not condition.
Electronics Verification
The equivalent optional check for electronics, paid by the buyer at £5 per item according to the price list. It can't be used for a bundle of several items.
Money
Vinted Balance
Your in-app wallet for sales earnings. It can't be topped up. Available funds can be withdrawn or spent on Vinted, where they're applied automatically at checkout (Vinted Balance: how it works).
Pending balance
Money from orders still in progress, held by the payment provider. You can't withdraw it until the order is completed.
Available balance
Money from completed orders, ready to withdraw (minimum £0.10) or spend. Full timings are in our guide on how long Vinted takes to pay.
Everything is OK
The button a buyer presses to confirm the order is fine. It completes the order straight away; otherwise the order completes 2 days after delivery if no issue is reported (14 days for Pro sellers).

Frequently asked questions
What does hidden mean on Vinted?
The listing isn't visible in the feed, the catalogue or the listings page. Either the seller hid it, or Vinted hid it for breaking the Catalogue Rules or missing information. Updating the listing to follow the rules makes it visible again, with no appeal needed.
What does member blocked mean on Vinted?
Either a member has blocked another member, which stops messages and purchases between them, or Vinted's team has blocked that account. Vinted treats a blocked member, a blocked account and a blocked IP address as three different things.
Can a blocked member see my items?
Vinted's help page says a blocked member can no longer message you or buy your items, and that you can no longer see theirs. It doesn't detail everything the blocked member still sees.
How long does holiday mode last on Vinted?
Up to 90 days. You can switch it off at any time, and it doesn't extend Bumps or Showcase you've already bought.
What does reserved mean on Vinted?
The seller has set the item aside for one buyer for up to 5 days. Other members can't see it during that time, and the seller can cancel the reservation whenever they want.
Is the Vinted fee the same as Buyer Protection?
Yes. Vinted renamed the Buyer Protection fee "Vinted fee" and says it isn't a new or additional charge. It's paid by the buyer, not the seller.
